Robot Pallestising System

CSR PGH Clay Bricks & Pavers in Maitland NSW contracted ABB to supply and commission two robots for a new Brick Pallertising System they were designing. CSR's own engineering staff built the mechanical devices which make up the system and they contracted Sapeca to provide the Control System and the Motor Control Centre (MCC).

This complex system gathers loosely stacked bricks from a conveyor and manipulates the product such that they are stacked tightly onto pallets ready for transportation. A variety of stacking configurations can be downloaded by the operator depending on the product type being treated. Palletising Robot at Work

The client's choice of PLC was the Schneider Compact series (formerly Modicon) and a Momentum to handle communications between the Robots and the PLC. A touch-screen industrial computer mounted into the operator's control panel was to run Intellution's FIX DMACS HMI software. All of these components were connected together via Modbus Plus.

Testemonials

"I have recommended Sapeca Pty Ltd to colleagues in industry because I know they will not be disappointed. The control systems that they have designed and built for our rollformers and stackers are reliable, easy to use and efficient – designed to increase our chances of success."
